Thanks Police!
Some signature gatherers or something just knocked on my door at 8:45PM! No way was I answering the door, cause we’re asleep at that hour, but I was curious, so I waited a minute and then sneaked a look outside the blinds to see if it was a neighbor, or you know, a missionary or some of those magazine people or something. There’s a police car sitting outside my house, so I opened the door. Turns out the cop had been driving by as these signature people were leaving my door, and he stopped and checked out the situation. Thanks police!
Alert: Signature people, or any kind of door to door people. 8:45PM is not an acceptable hour. End of message.

I’ve wondered for years why this area gets so many door-to-door people. Are we more receptive around here? I don’t remember getting nearly the number of door-to-door people when I lived on the eastside.
Jehovah’s Witness people came to my door last month when it was 20+ degrees outside. Last night the AFL-CIO was at my door.
Is it my imagination or do these groups specifically target this area?
Oh, and as long as we’re thanking the police, a big thank you to the police for putting up digital displays of vehicle speeds on SW Capitol Hill Road. The displays have been there a few days and they usually get drivers to slow down. It’s especially nice to see in front of Custer Park.

I noticed they have been removed from Capitol Hwy. I was wondering where they went next…

That speed reader gave me lots of enjoyment as I waited for the 44 to take me downtown. Most speeding cars would slow when they saw the flashing light. I’m sorry to see it gone. Can we get it back?
