Coming Attractions?
This post is mainly to light a fire under my behind, and get me to write some posts that I’ve been meaning to write for a while. Here then, are a few of the things that I am intending to write posts about in the near future:
- The Village Pub Crawl - I’m going to to grab a drink or two in each bar in the Village: O’Connors, The Ship, Renners, The Lucky Lab, Journeys (when it opens) and that one sports bar on Multnomah Boulevard. I’ll then give you my impressions, for what it’s worth.
- Neighborhood House - I’ve been meaning to dive into the history and the mission of Neighborhood House and put it into a post. I for one am intrigued that we have such an organization here in our Village.
- Gimme some of that sustainability - Head down to the sustainability center in the SW community center and bring back some facts. How can the average person make sustainability more than just the latest development buzzword and what resources do we have here in the Village to help?
- Northwest Wools picture post - have you been in there? The textures!
- Restaurant visit and review for the Bento Hut
Oh, if you’re reading this on my site and not on the RSS feed, you may notice that I’ve fixed the “Updated Today” banner? See it up there in the left-hand corner of your browser window? Well, you will now that I’ve updated, today.

Let me know when you’re gonna do the pub crawl. That sounds like something I could get into ;)

Great topics - looking forward to them.
Kind of related… Do you know what’s going into the empty space next to Down to Earth on 35th? It’s been empty for awhile.
Also it looks like Beyond Borders is mostly empty. Something new going in there?

Good question, I’ll ask around at the meeting next week. Yeah, I noticed that Beyond Borders had started to clear out after the holiday season. We remember that store in its previous incarnation as “Catfish Moon” up in Hillsdale.

Well I answered one of my own questions… And oops, the empty space is next to the barber shop, not Down to Earth. Ivan said that they’re in the process of fixing up the space next door, but don’t have a new tenant yet. One woman is interested, but nothing’s decided.
Okay, another question… :-) Is the City going to replace the equipment they took out next to the volleyball courts at Gabriel Park? Or are they going to do something else with that area? (When Parks got rid of equipment at Custer Park, they replaced it. But I heard that equipment was removed because it had lead in it, not because it was beyond repair. Don’t know if that’s true.)
